The Summer

The Summer Internship

The Summer Internship plays a pivotal role in the London Business School MBA.  This 8-12 week paid internship occurs between mid June and October at the end of the first year and allows students to put their first year learning into perspective and to gain a better understanding of the relationship between their capabilities and aspirations.  What can the Summer Internship offer to you?

  • Want to change career?  This provides the opportunity to try out a new industry or job function
  • Are you aiming to accelerate your career in the same function or sector?  The Summer Internship provides the opportunity for working abroad or for developing a specialist interest
  • Earn while you learn.  The Summer Internship is a great way to gain funds whilst on the MBA Programme.  The most recent class averaged earnings of £1,003 (US$2,081) per week for up to 12 weeks.

Entrepreneurship Summer School

Learn what it takes to turn a great idea into a fundable business. The London Business School MBA gives you the opportunity to take part in our Entrepreneurship Summer School. Designed to promote thorough exploration of a business opportunity in a practical format, the Summer School allows individual entrepreneurs to test the feasibility of their ideas through active research in their proposed markets.

The Summer School serves three markets:

  • Students having ideas they wish to pursue now
  • Students who want to start and run their own businesses later, but want to gain the requisite skills now
  • Students pursuing careers in general management who recognise that identifying, assessing, and shaping opportunities is a critical general management skill.

The course is structured to offer practical help and tools that will strengthen entrepreneurial capability and complement the learning from the MBA studies. The course culminates in the presentation of your feasibility study to an expert panel.  From then on, you can study other electives in entrepreneurship and work on a business plan as you finish your second year.
