Applying
We are currently accepting applications for entry to the MBA Programme beginning August 2009.
To be considered for admission to London Business School's MBA Programme, a candidate must complete an online application by one of the four admissions deadlines. A complete application consists of:-
| 1. Online application form |
Our online application form is designed to be completed during several sessions. You do not need to complete any particular section at one time, and by using your username and password you can return at any time to continue your work. The online application requires your personal / contact details, employment history, educational history, GMAT test details and language skills.
| 2. Essays |
The essays are an opportunity to tell us more about yourself. Use the essays to detail your interests, values and goals. We are interested in what motivates you, evidence of leadership and team work, why you are looking to pursue an MBA at this point in your life, and what you will bring to the London Business School Community. The essays are a vital part of your application and thus we recommend that you spend a significant amount of time in their preparation. The essay questions for entry in August 2009 are listed below. Question 1 (600 words) Question 2 (200 words) Question 3 (500 words) Question 4 (400 words) Question 5 (150 words) Question 6 (300 words) (This question is optional) Question 7 (300 words) (This question is for re-applicants only) Please note that applicants should submit their completed essays within the Essay template (Word 260kb)
| 3. Curriculum vitae / resume |
Please provide a CV/Resume. This CV must only be one page in length. If you have any significant gaps in your employment history, please tell us why on a separate sheet. Follow the instructions within the online application form to attach the document to your application.
| 4. Two letters of recommendation |
Two references are required. One should be from your current employer, or a colleague if you do not want to use your line manager at this time. The other referee could be a former employer, a long-standing client, or someone else who knows you well in a work context. You should only select someone who taught you at university if you have remained in close contact. Whoever you choose should know you in a professional capacity. Recommendations should be completed using the online reference system. Download further information on references for applicants and referees (Pdf 34kb) (includes a summary of the reference form questions) London Business School reserves the right to contact your referees for further information in connection with your application.
| 5. Official transcript(s) of grades |
Applicants must submit a transcript or list of grades for all studies at university level that contributed to the award of a degree. You should also submit copies of any professional qualifications that you are listing within this application. If these documents are not in English then you should provide a translation (your own translation is acceptable at this stage). We only require copies of your academic transcripts at this application stage. If you are extended an offer we will require an official paper transcript sent by post. The Admissions Committee reserves the right to retract an offer of admission already made if there is any discrepancy between the transcript copy and the original. We do not require transcripts for courses that did not contribute to a degree. Please note that we will not be able to return original transcripts once received. How to submit your transcript The Admissions Team would prefer applicants to submit transcripts online. Full instructions can be found within the application form. If you are not able to submit online, you can send the originals to the address shown below or email copies to apply.mba@london.edu When posting transcripts, we recommend sending via recorded delivery to confirm receipt and ensure delivery. MBA Admissions The following form can be used to request your transcripts from your university. (It is not necessary to submit this form in your application pack.) Transcript request form (Word)

| 6. GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test) |
All candidates must take the GMAT regardless of experience or educational background. The GMAT is just one of several admission criteria. Just as a high score does not guarantee admission, a below average score does not eliminate a candidate. You must take the GMAT before submitting your application. Please arrange for your score to be reported to London Business School's Full-time MBA Programme. The GMAT reporting code is Z11-J7-50. You must also ensure that your GMAT score is still valid on the 01 September for the year you will be matriculating. GMAT scores are valid for five years from the date you take the test. For example, for the class beginning in 2009, we will only accept GMAT scores obtained since 01 September 2004. For further information on the GMAT please visit their website http://www.mba.com/

| 7. English language test score (where applicable) |
The full-time MBA at London Business School is a highly demanding and very interactive programme. You will therefore need to have a fluent level of English in all areas (Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading).
All of these tests will assess your Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading skills. Our admissions requirements meet the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) at level C1/C2. We cannot accept any other tests. You have the option to waive an English test if:
| 8. Application fee |

Your application will remain incomplete until the correct fee is received. Fee waivers are available to London Business School alumni and graduates of the University of London, upon production of your degree transcript. |
