Online application

Our online application form is designed to be completed during several sessions. You do not need to complete any particular section at one time, and by using your username and password you can return at any time to continue your work.

Application essays

The essays are an opportunity to tell us more about yourself. Use the essays to detail your interests, values and goals. We are interested in what motivates you, evidence of leadership and team work, why you are looking to pursue a Masters in Management at this point in your life, and what you will bring to the London Business School Community. The essays are a vital part of your application and thus we recommend that you spend a significant amount of time in their preparation.  Please note that the answers to your essay questions must be your own.

Curriculum Vitae/Resume

Please provide a CV/Resume.  Follow the instructions within the online application form to attach the document to your application.  We recommend that you use our CV template.

 Two letters of recommendation

Two references are required. One referee should be an academic referee such as someone who taught you at university and the other referee can be non-academic, such as a current or previous employer or someone else who knows you well.

These must be provided using the online application system.

Official transcript(s) of grades

All applicants must submit an original/official or certified original transcript of grades from all colleges, universities and professional schools attended. These must include a comprehensive record of completed courses, grades and class of degree received and, if possible, a class ranking. If the original is not in English then you must provide a certified or notarised English translation.  These transcripts should be sent to the address below.

The following form can be used to request your transcripts from your university. (It is not necessary to submit this form in your application pack.)

English language test score

If English is not your native language, you will need to provide us with a valid score (including a component breakdown) from any of the following recognised English language tests (scores are valid for two years and must be valid at the time of submitting your application):
• TOEFL iBT (we can only accept the Internet Based TOEFL test as this is the only one that assesses each language component).
• IELTS
• CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English)
All of these tests will assess your Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading skills.  Our admissions requirements meet the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) at level C1/C2.  We cannot accept any other tests.

GMAT score

All candidates must take the GMAT regardless of experience or educational background. The GMAT is just one of several admission criteria. You must have taken the GMAT before submitting your application. Please arrange for your score to be sent directly to the School. GMAT scores are valid for five years. Our GMAT code number is Z11-J7-40.

We will consider GMAT scores over 600 although the average student score will more likely be around 700.

For further information on the GMAT please visit the GMAT website

A non-refundable fee of £50 is required for applications to join the programme beginning August 2009. The fee is payable online by credit card upon submission of your online application.  Your application will remain incomplete until the correct fee is received.
