John Mullins BA (Lehigh), MBA (Stanford), PhD (Minnesota)
John is a veteran of three entrepreneurial ventures in the United States, one of which he took public. His recent book, The New Business Road Test: What Entrepreneurs and Executives Should Do Before Writing a Business Plan, is the definitive work on the assessment and development of new venture opportunities. The fruits of his research have appeared in Harvard Business Review, MIT Sloan Management Review, and numerous other outlets. John is
Associate Professor of Management Practice at London Business School and Chair of the School's entrepreneurship faculty. He has consulted for and delivered executive education to clients on four continents, including programmes in venture capital in Europe, Africa, and Asia.


 

Martyn Williams MBA (London), ACIB IIMR
Martyn has been the CEO and Chairman of several successful venture capital-backed companies. He helped negotiate the consortium bid for the Dome and Greenwich Peninsula and was an Investment Manager at 3i. He structured debt and equity packages for SMEs while at a number of investment banks in the 1980s. In all, he has worked on more than 40 successful fund raising transactions as Principal, Venture Capitalist, Banker or Advisor. Martyn is Adjunct Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at London Business School. He is a Director of Sussex Place Ventures and is an investing Chairman – or acts as a venture capital board representative – for blue chip funds in four venture capital-backed companies. He consults widely in the venture capital field.
