Below is a list of frequently asked questions relating to our Finance Programmes.

 

 Executive Programmes

Is there a qualification at the end of the programme?
The Finance Executive Programmes are non-degree programmes and there is no formal academic qualification.  Participants will receive a certificate of attendance.

Are there any exams?
No, the programmes are executive non-examined programmes.

Will I get credits towards the Masters in Finance?
No. 

Do I have to be sponsored by my employer?
Most participants on the finance executive programmes will be sponsored by their company but it is possible for individuals to sponsor themselves. To do this, please enter your own details on the sponsoring executive section of the form.

Are there any scholarships or discounts?
There are no scholarships or discounts.

What is the cancellation and transfer policy?
Cancellation fees are as follows: 

  • 14 days or less - 100% of the Programme fee payable
  •  more than 14 days but less than 28 - 50% payable
  •  more than 28 days but less than 42 days - 25% payable

Transfer fees are as follows: 

  • 14 days or less - 50% of the Programme fee payable 
  •  more than 14 days but less than 28 -35% payable
  •  more than 28 days but less than 42 days - 20% payable

Is work experience required?
Work experience is required for all our Finance Executive Programmes.  The programmes attract participants ranging from those with a minimum of two years relevant work experience to those in senior positions.

Can I come to London and get a work permit whilst on the course? 
No. Enrolling on one of our Finance Executive Programmes will not entitle you to a UK work visa. 
 
Is there any accommodation?
Overnight accommodation is not included in the fee, but information about local accommodation will be provided on acceptance to the programme.
 
How much self-study/work is there?
Participants will be expected to be free of all other commitments during the programmes. The daily schedule includes lectures, group work and discussions, as well as review and preparation sessions.  The formal sessions start at 9.00 am each day and there will be work scheduled for the evenings.
 
Can I use Career Services during the programme?
No, Career Services is only available to participants on degree programmes.

Can I apply for modules on the Corporate Finance Modular Programme and the Corporate Finance Evening Programme?
If there is no overlap in dates, participants could, for instance, undertake Term 1 of the Corporate Finance Evening Programme and then modules 2 and 3 of the Corporate Finance Modular Programme.  They would pay the fee for one term only of the evening programme plus the fee for two modules on the Corporate Finance Modular Programme.

Will I get alumni status?
Upon completion of all three modules, you become an alumnus of London Business School and have access to a number of events and lectures, as well as our online community.

 

 Corporate Finance Evening Programme

Is there a qualification at the end of the programme?
This is a non-degree course and there is no formal academic qualification.  However, participants can receive a certificate of attendance if they complete at least two terms and attend at least eight out of ten sessions in each term.

Do I have to be sponsored by my employer?
Most participants on the finance executive programmes will be sponsored by their company but it is possible for individuals to sponsor themselves.

Is work experience required?
Work experience is required for all our finance executive programmes.  The Corporate Finance Evening Programme attracts participants ranging from those with a minimum of two years work experience to those in senior positions.

Can I come to London and get a work permit whilst on the course?
No, enrolling on one of our finance executive programmes will not entitle you to a student or work visa.  People undertaking our executive programmes are already in employment.

Are there any scholarships or discounts?
There are no scholarships or discounts.

Do I have to take the whole programme?
No.  It is possible to undertake Term 1 only, Financial Accounting and Analysis, or Terms 2 and 3 only, Corporate Finance.  Most participants undertake the whole programme of 3 terms.

How much self-study/work is there?
We are conscious that a lot of participants have very demanding careers so you will not be expected to undertake enormous amounts of personal study.  Typically, 2 to 3 hours a week would suffice.  Obviously, the more you put in the more you will get out of the programme.

Are there any exams?
No, this is an executive non-examined programme.  However, if you would like to ascertain how much you have learnt and understood, participants can do the optional take-home exam at the end of each term.

Will I get academic credits towards the Masters in Finance?
No.

Can I use Career Services during the programme?
No, Career Services is only available to participants on degree programmes.

Will I get alumni status?
Upon completion of all three terms, you become an alumnus of London Business School and have access to a number of events and lectures, as well as our online community.

Most participants on the finance executive programmes will be sponsored by their company but it is possible for individuals to sponsor themselves.

Work experience is required for all our finance executive programmes.  The Investment Management Evening Programme attracts participants ranging from those with a minimum of two years work experience to those in senior positions.
