Faculty

Our finance faculty is recognised as one of the most pre-eminent groups of finance academics in the world. Faculty teaching on Credit Risk Management at London Business School are:

Viral Acharya, BTech (IIT, Bombay) PhD (Stern School of Business, NYU)
Viral is Professor of Finance at London Business School and has had his work on credit risk extensively published in various leading academic journals and trade publications. Viral's research interests are in banking, corporate finance, asset pricing, valuation and hedging of corporate debt and credit derivatives, international finance and agency theory in general equilibrium. Viral also acts as Academic Advisor to the Bank of England, a position he has held for a number of years.

 

Stephen Schaefer, MA (Cambridge) PhD (London)
Stephen is Professor of Finance at London Business School and author of over 30 published books and papers in the field of finance. Stephen's research interests include credit risk, derivatives instruments, asset pricing theory, investment management, risk management and the term structure of interest rates. As well as a well-respected academic authority on the topic of credit risk, Stephen also has extensive industry experience. He is currently a member of the Moody's Advisory and Academic Research Committee and Non-executive Director of Leo Fund Managers.
