The finance group at London Business School has an international reputation and orientation, and is one of the largest concentrations of finance faculty worldwide. Chris Higson, BA MSc PhD (London)
Teaches Term 1
Chris Higson is Visiting Professor of Accounting at London Business School, where he was for some years chair of the accounting group. Chris publishes extensively on the financial performance and valuation of firms and on accounting policy and financial governance, and he regularly comments on television, radio and in the international press on these issues. Chris' latest book is Financial Statements: Economic analysis and interpretation. Chris is a highly regarded teacher and has taught on all the major programmes at London Business School. He has also advised many of the world's leading industrial companies and financial institutions.
Joao Cocco, BA (Universidade Catolica Portuguesa) MA PhD (Harvard)
Teaches Term 2
Joao is Associate Professor of Finance at London Business School and an Affiliate of the
Centre for Economic Policy Research. His research interests include asset pricing theory, portfolio selection, real estate finance and pensions. Joao's work has appeared in several top academic journals, and has received substantial media interest.
Anna Pavlova, MS (Moscow State University) MA (New Economic School) PhD (University of Pennsylvania)
Co-teaches Term 3
Anna is Assistant Professor of Finance at London Business School. Her research interests include international finance and economics, asset pricing, market imperfections, continuous time finance and economics, mutual funds, portfolio choice, equilibrium theory. Affiliate, Centre for Economic Policy Research, Editorial Board, Annals of Finance.
Henri Servaes, BSc BBA (European University) MSIA PhD (Purdue)
Co-teaches Term 3
Henri is Professor of Finance at London Business School and until recently was Chair of the School's finance subject area. His research and publications are in the areas of corporate governance, IPOs, mutual funds and capital structure. He also consults for numerous companies and is Associate Editor of several leading finance journals.
