The SEE offers companies an excellent opportunity to:

• Obtain a highly motivated and qualified extra pair of hands from the top business school in the UK at a low cost and at a time you need them most.
  
  
• Identify and pre-empt many of the issues and problems encountered by growing businesses by working with the SEE Programme to create a project to tackle them.
  
  
• Test drive potential hires before making them a permanent job offer.
  
  
• Build a profile with the top business school in the UK.
  

Based on our previous experience, the profile of an ideal company for the Programme is one that:

• Is still entrepreneurial in nature. This could mean that a founder is still heavily involved, is growing fast and has an informal decision-making process etc. 
  
  
• Is fully operational and funded.
  
  
• Has at least five employees (to ensure the intern has an adequate support infrastructure).
  

The profile of an appropriate SEE opportunity is one where:

• The interns' roles and responsibilities are clearly defined.
  
  
• An operational role, or at least operational exposure, is created.
  
  
• A mentor is assigned to work with the student.  The mentor does not necessarily need to be the student's direct supervisor but a seasoned industry expert and/or entrepreneur is preferred.
  

'Market analysis' type work can be appropriate if this involves direct interaction between the student and clients, industry leaders, mentors, etc. The student should not be doing basic secondary research or consulting type projects.
