Teaching & assessment
Assessment: to anchor learning
Each course on the Executive MBA will be assessed using some or all of the following tools:
- Individual projects / essays / reports
- Examinations
- Class participation
- Group assignments / reports
- Class presentations
In order to successfully complete the degree students must complete the following:
| Core courses | 14 credits |
| Elective courses | 6-8 credits |
| International assignment | 1 credit |
| Management report | 2 credits |
| Minimum credits to graduate | 23 credits |
The pass rate for the Executive MBA is normally between 95 and 100 per cent. This can be attributed to London Business School's rigorous admissions criteria and selection processes, as well as the strong support from faculty throughout the programme to ensure that students complete it satisfactorily. Very occasionally, students fail the programme, although the assessment criteria do allow for a single re-sit option for qualifying courses. In addition, some students may not complete the programme or extend their period of completion for extenuating personal or work-related reasons such as relocation.
London Business School is a graduate school of the University of London and awards University of London degrees. Executive MBA students are awarded the same degree as London Business School full-time MBA students.
