Essays
The five essay questions are designed to help us understand why you wish to do the EMBA, your long-term career goals and the contribution you can make in the classroom. Four out of the five essay questions have a maximum word limit of 500, while one question has a maximum word limit of 300. The essays are a significant part of the application, so thoughtfully completed answers and early preparation is highly recommended.
Curriculum Vitae
Please upload your most recent CV/Resume. This CV must only be one page in length and provide details on your professional history.
Please ensure that both your references are completed on the form provided. We require one reference from your current or recent superior who can attest to your managerial abilities and one from someone who can comment on your academic potential e.g. someone who taught you at university level. If you left university some years ago, an acceptable alternative would be someone from your organisation who has contact with you in a training or mentoring role, such as a HR or Training Development Manager.Your referees will have the opportunity to submit their references online once you have registered their details on the online application system. Please note that they must have a valid email address in order to receive details on how to access the online reference system. You should notify your referees in advance that they will be receiving an email from London Business School with their User ID, password and instructions for completing the online form.
If your referees are unable to complete this form online, please contact the team at emba-office@london.edu or Tel: +44 (0)20 7000 7479 to obtain a Microsoft Word version of the reference form. Your referees will then need to send the references directly to London Business School in an unopened envelope, signed by them on the seal. Please note that references must be in English or sent with a translation.

Official academic transcripts or certificates
Please submit original or certified copies of your undergraduate and/or postgraduate transcripts. Transcripts are official records of university enrolment and provide comprehensive details of the subjects taken in each academic year and the corresponding grades that have been awarded.
You can use the following Transcript Request Form to request your university grades from your university. If you already hold copies of your transcripts, you can submit them directly to the EMBA admissions team. If your transcripts are in a language other than English, please obtain a certified literal English translation together with the original document in the original language.
London Business School does not provide a translation service or details of certified English translators. However, you can seek advice from the British Council Office nearest to you.
GMAT score
The General Management Admissions Test (GMAT) is an essential part of the application to the Executive MBA programme and can not be waived, regardless of your experience or educational background. If you submit your application without a GMAT score, you must supply the date you are booked to take the test.
The average GMAT score for Executive MBA classes is usually between 650 and 670. However, the Admissions Committee usually expect a strong candidate to gain a score of at least 600, with at least 50 in the quantitative and verbal percentiles.
Please ensure that you have requested for the Educational Testing Services (ETS) to send your GMAT score to London Business School. Our GMAT code is 0898 pre January 2006 and Z11-J7-23 post January 2006. Final offers of admission on to the EMBA programme will not be made until London Business School has received an original GMAT score from ETS.

You will not need to prove your English language abilities in the following cases:

• If you have worked in an English-speaking environment for two or more years
If you already hold one of the above English language qualifications, it should not have been taken more than two years before the start of the programme.
