Global Leadership Summit 2012
Faster, Higher, Stronger: Lessons shared between Business and Sport

Monday 21 May 2012
Registration opens February 2012 The Olympics have long been about more than the noble sporting goals of its motto: citius, altius, fortius (faster, higher, stronger). Today, the modern day Games are the biggest sporting event in the world and a lucrative commercial venture that creates substantial income through ticket sales and considerable corporate sponsorship. The Beijing Olympics alone generated revenues of $5 billion in the four years running up to the event. More generally sport is big business generating as much as *$620 billion annually through infrastructure, construction, sporting goods and licensed products, as well as live sporting events. The Global Leadership Summit in 2012 will bring together some of the brightest minds in the academic, business and sports arenas to discuss the common ground shared between the two worlds: The Summit will combine speakers from industry-leading global businesses with London Business School's faculty, plus leading sport and business thinkers from other top business schools around the world. The Global Leadership Summit is London Business School's flagship event for its entire global community. Held annually in London, it brings together world leaders in business, government, finance and academia for one day, to discuss and debate the challenges facing the business leaders of today and tomorrow. In 2011 the Global Leadership Summit addressed the theme of innovation.
